Privacy policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
Dayaroo helps households keep track of bills, documents and reminders. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address.
- What you add to the app: bills, documents, appointments, reminders, properties and shopping lists, including details such as provider, amount, due date, account number and BPAY biller code and reference.
- Files and emails you send us: photos and PDFs you scan or upload, and emails you forward to your private Dayaroo inbox address.
- Device information for notifications: a push notification token so we can send you reminders.
- Usage counts: how many AI reads your account has used, so plan limits work.
We do not collect or store card or bank login details. You pay your bills in your own banking app.
How we use it
- To read bills and documents you send us and fill in their details for you to check.
- To show your information in the app and send the reminders you choose.
- To share items with household members you invite, and only them.
- To run your plan, including the welcome month and usage limits.
- To reply when you contact us, and to keep the service secure.
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Services we use
We use trusted providers to run Dayaroo. They handle your information only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: secure database, sign-in and file storage.
- Anthropic (Claude): reads the bills, documents and emails you send so their details can be filled in.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivers push notifications.
- Cloudflare: receives emails forwarded to your Dayaroo inbox address and hosts this website.
- Apple App Store and Google Play: handle subscription payments when purchases are available.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside Australia.
Sharing with your household
Nothing is shared unless you invite someone. Members of your household can see the household's items; each person can edit only their own. You can remove a member at any time.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete individual items in the app at any time. To delete your account and its data, email hello@dayaroo.com from the address you signed up with.
Security
Your data is protected by access rules so only you and the household members you invite can see it. Uploaded files are stored privately. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a serious breach affects you.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you. If you have a concern about how we handle your information, contact us first. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
